Girls Christmas Trip to Disney Day 3 Hollywood Studios

Girls Christmas Trip to Disney
Day 3
Hollywood Studios

After watching most of the Festival of Fantasy parade, we headed out of the park to catch the bus to Hollywood Studios.

After going through bag check and entering the park, we decided to get a locker for our backpack.  As it turned out, we really didn't need to do this, and it took a long time at the end of the night to turn in our receipt to get our $5 deposit back.  This was the first time we were in the parks by ourselves and didn't have Kyle to carry the backpack around for us.  The main reason we had it was for our water bottle, so it wasn't heavy at all and we just took turns wearing it throughout the trip.

After dropping off the backpack, we headed to 50's Prime Time Cafe. We can't possibly spend time in Hollywood Studios without our favorite PB and J milkshake and onion rings now can we???  We went to the Tune In Lounge in the waiting area of 50's Prime Time and had a seat at the bar.  (Here's a tip, kids are fine there, as long as an adult is with them).  We shared a shake and onion rings, then headed out to the Animation Academy.

But, we had our cups of water with us from 50's Prime Time and they wouldn't even let us in the line for the Animation Academy.  We took 2 steps outside, emptied the cups of water into our water bottle, and by the time we got back inside the line was full and we would have to wait for the next class.

We didn't have time to wait though, we had some FastPasses to get to!

Iza and I walked over to Tower of Terror.  I thought I might walk through the line with her and then use the "chicken exit", but realized she could use MY FastPass and ride twice instead.  She went through the line, while I found a bench near the exit to wait for her.

Once her first ride was over, we switched Magic Bands, and she went through the line to ride again, and I went back to my bench.  She really liked being able to ride twice even if she did have to go alone.

After her second ride, we had to walk the entire length of the park to make it to our next FastPass-- For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-along Spectacular!

Iza was being kind of grumpy and was mad that we weren't going straight to see the Osborne lights.  She claimed she didn't want to see the Frozen show.  But I'm so glad we did!  As it turned out the show was really funny, even if  you are over the whole "Frozen" thing, it's definitely worth seeing.  And Iza ended up enjoying it as well, even if she was being a grumpy butt about going.

When it was over, we finally headed to the Osborne Lights.

We watched them for quite a while.

Then it was time for our Toy Story Midway Mania FastPass.  Again, Iza didn't want to leave the lights, but she did eventually come with me.

We went right back to the Streets of America and watched the lights until we had to leave the park for the night.

I can't seem to embed the video, maybe because of the song, so instead here's a link to it! (Notice Iza rocking out near the end...)

We caught a bus back to All Star Music and stopped in the food court to get a late dinner.  We shared some pasta with chicken and white sauce, with a breadstick and a small salad.  It was just ok, I would have liked it better if there were some mushrooms or veg of some sort, or more sauce.  It was back to the room after that, where we found some friends waiting in the window for us:

By the way, Mousekeeping at All Star Music was fantastic!  We actually had several towel animals, and they usually did something cute with Iza's stuffed friends, too.

After our showers and a bit of reading, we went to bed.

Tomorrow we're heading to Animal Kingdom!

Any guesses as to how far we walked today?  Leave a comment, or head back to Facebook and let me know what you think the answer is!
